Barry Asin President
A leading authority on workforce solutions worldwide, Barry Asin is renowned for his expertise on staffing and contingent labor. President of Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) since 2010, Asin holds overall responsibility for the company’s strategy, operations and growth on a global basis. He has been with the company since 2003, where he previously held the position of Chief Analyst, leading the team responsible for SIA’s award-winning research and content.

Asin is the co-author of Breaking Through: Leadership Disciplines from Top Performing Staffing Firms and is a frequent speaker at industry events, sharing essential insights on leadership and the challenges, opportunities and rapid transformations around work today. He is quoted in major business and industry publications, including the New York Times, BusinessWeek, Inc. Magazine, The Atlantic, Bloomberg Business, CNBC, Marketplace, USA Today and MarketWatch among others.

Prior to joining SIA, Asin spent nearly 12 years as a senior executive at global staffing leader Adecco SA. Before Adecco, he held operations management positions with PepsiCo, and he began his professional career with Andersen Consulting, the predecessor of Accenture. He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University and a B.S. in engineering from Princeton University.

Diana Gabriel
Diana Gabriel SVP, Global Strategy & Solutions
Diana Gabriel joined Staffing Industry Analysts in 2006 in the role of Strategic Solutions executive and is responsible for strategy, advisory services and sales. She possesses over 15 years of experience in the staffing industry working for Adecco North America, PrO Unlimited and ICGCommerce. Her experience includes managing all aspects of branch operations, successfully driving sales and profitability. While in her corporate role she worked closely with the North American sales team managing large account contract deliverables. In addition, Gabriel worked for PrO Unlimited managing onsite programs for large Silicon Valley technology customers and spent two years with a national consulting company implementing customized contingent staffing programs, partnering with both MSP and VMS companies.
John Nurthen
John NurthenExecutive Director, Global Research
John Nurthen manages the team that delivers Staffing Industry Analysts’ international research content. He has over 25 years’ experience in the staffing industry, having previously worked in senior managerial roles for three of the world’s largest staffing companies: Select Appointments, Vedior and Randstad. He played an active role in major equity offerings and mergers.

Nurthen was a founder of the International Review of Employment, published in four languages, and DOVA, one of the largest global databases of online vacancies. He played a leading role in the development of common data standards with the creation of HR-XML SIDES.

He has held responsibility for internal and external communications, e-Business, technology matters, marketing, research, procurement and corporate social responsibility. Nurthen’s experience makes him an authority on global recruitment and contingent workforce issues.

Bryan Peña

Bryan Peña is the global expert on flexible staffing programs and strategies, including management issues, MSP models, VMS technology, variable and full-time labor, pricing options, RFx processes and supplier negotiation strategies. As a member of Staffing Industry Analysts’ (SIA) Executive Team, Peña is responsible for identifying, developing and implementing cutting-edge research and strategies for the end users of contingent labor. Peña advises CWS Council members—amounting to more than $100 billion in contingent spend—in managing their extended workforce programs.

Peña and his team crafted the Certified Contingent Workforce Professional program, an exclusive accreditation dedicated solely to the CW practitioner. Peña speaks frequently at SIA and other conferences, executive briefings and provides strategic advisory services to procurement/staffing groups worldwide. He also contributes regularly to SIA’s award-winning weekly e-newsletter, CWS 3.0. Previously, he was senior global commodity manager of professional services at Avery Dennison. Prior to that, he was at Vivendi Universal Entertainment (now NBC Universal) North America as acting director of strategic sourcing and professional services.

 Subadhra Sriram

Subadhra Sriram was appointed publisher and editor, media products of Staffing Industry Analysts in 2014. She is responsible for the company’s global media and digital strategy, supervising all editorial functions. Her role allows her to oversee SIA’s content channels while managing brands that strengthen SIA’s cutting edge-research. She has founded and moderates the leading forum of user-generated content where the voices of the staffing industry are heard.

Prior to SIA, Sriram has had over 15 years of journalism experience at premier Fortune 500 publishing houses including Time Warner publications, Money magazine, Business 2.0 and Fortune Small Business. She began her career in India working for a national news magazine. She holds a Masters from Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism and a BS in English Literature and Economics from St Xavier’s College, Calcutta University.

Ursula Williams

Ursula Williams was appointed Executive Vice President of Staffing Industry Analysts in 2018. In her role, Ursula bridges the various SIA departments, resulting in superior products/services for the staffing and the workforce solutions ecosystem. Day to day, she is responsible for global strategy and overseeing the teams responsible for Marketing, Operations, Conferences (including Registration Sales), Technology and Digital Solutions. Williams joined SIA in 2015 as SVP of Global Strategy and Marketing and has over 25 years of industry leadership experience and tenure with global organizations.

Prior to joining SIA, she most recently held senior executive positions at Randstad Professionals and Vedior, overseeing strategy, sales and delivery for the largest contingent labor buyers in the division. She has also been responsible for new product development, branding, web strategies, client development and candidate recruitment programs. She has led several branding transitions and was the international lead to the worldwide finance and accounting branding team during the Vedior/Randstad transition. Williams’ unique background includes both corporate strategy as well as years of direct line responsibility for driving results in the field in retail and large contingent staffing programs and direct hire placement.
